Rights · DPDP s.11–s.14, Rule 14

Every right, with a clock on it.

People sign in with a one-time code, see what they agreed to, withdraw in one click and raise requests. Your team gets a queue with a countdown on each request, identity verification before anything is disclosed, and erasure that actually reaches your systems.

The Privacy Centre: a person's consents with withdraw switches and the list of their requests
The challenge

Rights requests arrive whether you are ready or not.

A shared inbox and a spreadsheet work for the first few. They do not work when the thirtieth day arrives on a request nobody owned.

Rule 14
Thirty days. Ninety for a grievance.
The clock starts at receipt. Reminders, ownership and a record of every step are the difference between a closed request and a complaint to the Board.
s.11, s.12
Disclosing to the wrong person
An access request answered without checking identity is itself a breach. Verification has to come before the data, every time.
Erasure
Deleted here, kept there
Erasing a row in your database while the CRM, the engagement platform and the support desk keep the person is not erasure.
What Nyvika does

A portal for them, a queue for you.

The Privacy Centre is hosted by Nyvika in your name; the queue lives in your console. Both write to the same timeline.

Privacy Centre

Sign-in by email or phone with a one-time code; consents, requests and the notice in the person's language.

  • English and Hindi interface, notice in 23 languages
  • Withdraw any consent in one click
  • Track each request and read your team's replies

Five request types

Access, correction, erasure, nomination and grievance, from the portal, the API or an operator on the person's behalf.

  • Nominee recorded for death or incapacity (s.14)
  • Grievance gets the 90-day clock
  • Hold and reject with recorded reasons

Identity before data

A code to the email or phone on record, or an operator's attestation, before access or erasure proceeds.

  • Blocked until verified
  • Verification recorded on the timeline
  • No disclosure to an unverified requester

Erasure that reaches

Executing an erasure withdraws every consent, instructs every connected processor, redacts the ledger and shreds the contact.

  • Delivery log per processor with retry
  • Access bundle: consents, processors, data locations
  • Everything audited
The queue

Nothing goes overdue quietly.

Each request shows its deadline, owner and status. Officers get a daily digest of what is due, and the overview shows what is late before anyone asks.

  • Countdown on every request

Days remaining against the configured period (30 by default), 90 for grievances.

  • Daily digest

An email at 9:00 IST listing what is due this week and what is overdue.

  • Chained timeline

Notes, status changes and messages are hash-linked; the request register report shows who did what, when.

A request in the console: countdown, identity status, assignment and the hash-chained timeline
One ledger

How it connects.

Every module writes to the same registers and the same hash-chained evidence, so nothing is re-keyed and nothing is lost between teams.

Questions

Asked about rights requests.

How does a person prove who they are?

A one-time code to the email address or phone number already on record. If neither is usable, an officer can attest to identity after their own check and the attestation is recorded.

Can requests come in by email?

An officer raises them on the person's behalf from the console, with the channel recorded. Direct mailbox intake is on the roadmap.

What does an access request return?

A bundle with the person's consent history, current state, the processors their data was shared with and the data locations from the inventory. Generating it fulfils the request and is itself audited.

What if we cannot meet the deadline?

You can put a request on hold with a reason the person sees, but the clock keeps running and the overdue state is reported. Nyvika does not hide lateness; it makes it visible early enough to avoid.
